Implementation FAQ

General Questions

+ What languages is the survey translated into?

The survey is currently available in the following languages: Albanian Arabic Armenian Belarusian Bengali Bosnian Bulgarian Burmese Chinese (simplified) Chinese (traditional) Croatian Czech Danish Dutch English Estonian Finnish French German Greek Hindi Hungarian Icelandic Indonesian (Bahasa) Italian Japanese Khmer Korean Latvian Lithuanian Macedonian Malay Malayalam Marathi Nepali Norwegian Polish Portuguese Portuguese (Brazil) Romanian Russian Serbian Sinhala Slovak Slovenian Spanish Spanish (LATAM localised) Swedish Tagalog (Philippines) Tamil Thai Turkish Ukrainian Urdu Vietnamese

+ What topics does the survey cover?

We have a core question set called General Culture, which covers the fundamental cultural components of any organization. There is also an option to add additional “engagement” questions for companies who want to assess employee engagement in detail.

In addition to this, companies can select one or more of our specific modules, depending on their sector and priorities.

*“Food safety” relates to products being safe for the consumer to eat.

*“Product safety” relates to products being safe for the consumer.

*“Quality” relates to products consistently being 'fit for purpose' and meeting customer requirements.

*“Employee health and safety” relates to the prevention of harm to employees (e.g. injury, long term harm).

*“Environmental sustainability" relates to the prevention of damage to the planet and its resources (e.g. use of energy, water and materials, pollution and emissions).

There is also the opportunity to do a separate corporate survey for people who work in a head office, or work across multiple sites/factories. The corporate survey focuses on how the key messages of safety/quality/sustainability permeate across the company, outside of the core production areas. It has an extra question set for people who regularly visit the site/factories, which allows for a comparison of internal and external experiences. Importantly, it also prevents people who do not visit those areas from getting questions outside of their scope.

+ How long does the survey take?

This depends on the number of modules that is being taken. If assessing a single module the estimate is around 10-15 mins per operator / staff level employee, and 15-20 for managers. For each additional module add 3-5 minutes extra per person.

Since 2021 we are also offering a lean version of the survey for people taking multiple modules of the survey. This makes more questions role specific, reducing the overall time for everyone without reducing the data.

+ How often should we take the survey?

We recommend taking the survey every 12 months. This allows ample time for cultural change to take place but is of a sufficient frequency that important changes can be tracked.

+ How many employees should participate?

The recommended percentage of participants will depend on the size of your workplace. For larger locations with 200+ employees, we recommend at least 30% participation rate to achieve a representative sample, whereas smaller workplaces with e.g. 30 people, should get everyone to take the assessment.
