If you can't explain it simply...
We know that one of the strengths of our program is that we are able to put into a simple grading system concepts that were previously seen as too complex and opaque to measure. Naturally, to turn something complex into something easy to understand and relate to takes a lot of work and knowhow. This is why every part of the Culture Excellence program is based on psychology and is complimented by PhD-level expertise in safety, education and risk management. As Einstein once famously said: “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough”.
Every business has a culture – but are you able to pinpoint your strengths and make sure they are embedded and maintained in your company? Do you know where your cultural weaknesses lie and what threats they pose to your operations, your employees or your customers? Wouldn’t be useful if you could untie the complexity of opinions and attitudes into clear, actionable steps?
We strongly believe that the answer to these question is yes. And, importantly, so do our clients. We have been running the program for three years now and have clients across 19 countries. Their feedback can be seen in the diagram, showing the link between a robust cultural measurement and the identification of strengths, weaknesses, progress over time, and its positive impact on audit readiness and employee compliance, and the reduction of risks, incidents and non-conformities.
Happy employees that take pride in their work and do a great job requires a company that enables that. Good culture does that. And if the top priorities are safety and quality, these can only be realised by a strong safety and quality culture.
